GSYD Statement On Stamford Mayor Caroline Simmons’s 2024 State Of The City Address
Young Civic Leaders and Stamford Residents Applaud Simmons for Prioritizing Key Issues Concerning Residents
STAMFORD, CT — In response to Mayor Caroline Simmons’s State of the City address on Thursday, April 25, to the Stamford Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Stamford Young Democrats (GSYD) released the following statements from the organization’s president and executive vice president.
“Ever since she shattered the glass ceiling with her historic election in 2021, Mayor Simmons has proven what is possible in Stamford on a wide range of important issues to residents, business owners, and other stakeholders,” said GSYD President Alisson Meza. “Whether it’s making our economy more affordable, attracting international companies, or ensuring that the city remains among the safest in New England, she also continues to serve as a role model for young people in Stamford and throughout the region for how young public servants can make a positive difference in their communities.”
“While ensuring that city government is more accessible to residents and working proactively to make Stamford more affordable, Mayor Simmons is proving yet again why there is so much positive momentum underway in the city,” said GSYD Executive Vice President Geraldine Uribe. “Beyond visible accomplishments like pedestrian safety improvements and infrastructure upgrades, her administration is a shining example for civic collaboration and public service.”
